Robin's Nest Family Childcare ("Robin's Nest," "we," "us," or "our") operates robinsnestfamily.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions about anything here, please contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.
Who this policy is for
This website is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults who are looking into childcare. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Information about enrolled children is provided to us by their parents or guardians as part of the enrollment process, and is handled as described in the "Information about children" section below.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly. When you complete our online application, contact form, or inquiry form, or when you email, call, or text us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, your child's first name and age, the days and hours of care you are looking for, your preferred start date, and anything else you choose to tell us.
Information from advertising and social media. If you respond to an ad or a form on Facebook or Instagram, those platforms pass along the contact information and answers you submitted. If you message us through a social media page, we receive the contents of that message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours may automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the site you came from. This may be collected through cookies or similar technologies used by our website host and any analytics tools we use.
Enrollment records. If your family enrolls, we collect the information required by our enrollment agreement and by California licensing regulations. This is described separately below.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Information about children
Information about enrolled children is confidential. We collect it from parents and guardians, not from children, and it is kept as described in our Family Enrollment Agreement. We do not disclose information about a child or family to third parties except:
As required by law
To licensing or regulatory authorities, including the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division
To medical or emergency personnel during a medical emergency
With the parent's or guardian's prior written consent
We are mandated reporters under California law and are legally required to report any reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
Photos and video
With written consent from a parent or guardian, we may use photos or short videos of enrolled children on our website, social media, and in marketing materials. We do not publish a child's last name, a parent's name, or identifying location information alongside these images. Consent is given or declined during enrollment and may be revoked at any time in writing. Revoking consent does not require removal of materials already printed or already distributed.
How we share information
We may share information with service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, form and scheduling tools, email providers, and payment services. These providers only receive what they need to perform their function.
We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid legal request, to protect the safety of a child or another person, or in connection with a licensing inspection or investigation.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to understand general traffic patterns. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Turning off cookies may affect how parts of the site function.
If we use advertising tools such as the Meta pixel, those tools may collect information about your visit and associate it with your social media account. You can adjust your ad preferences within Facebook and Instagram directly.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and application information only as long as we need it to respond to you and to keep reasonable business records. Enrollment and childcare records are retained for as long as required by California licensing regulations and tax law, and then disposed of securely.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including keeping paper records secured and limiting access to electronic records. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we will honor that request. You may also ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Some information must be retained to meet licensing, legal, or tax obligations, and we will tell you if that applies.
California residents may have additional rights regarding personal information under state law. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
Parents of enrolled children have the right to inspect their child's records, view our licensing report, be informed of substantiated complaints, and contact the licensing agency directly.
