Introduction:
At Robins Nest, we believe in creating a positive, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Our behavior policy is designed to promote respect, safety, and kindness among all our daycare members.
Behavior Expectations:
We expect all children in our care to:
- Respect Others: Treat others with kindness and respect.
 - Listen and Follow Directions: Pay attention to and follow instructions from daycare staff.
 - Share and Take Turns: Cooperate with others during play and learning activities.
 - Use Appropriate Language: Speak politely without using hurtful or inappropriate words.
 - Keep Hands to Themselves: Avoid hitting, pushing, or physical aggression.
 - Respect Property: Take care of toys, books, and other materials.

Positive Reinforcement:
We believe in encouraging good behavior through positive reinforcement, which may include:
- Verbal praise and acknowledgment.
 - Stickers or stamps for younger children.
 - Special privileges, like choosing a game or activity.

Disciplinary Measures:
If a child exhibits inappropriate behavior, we will take the following steps:
- Verbal Reminder: The child will be reminded of the expected behavior.
 - Cool-Down Period: If the behavior continues, the child may be given a brief cool-down period to regroup.
 - Discussion: The child and caregiver will discuss the behavior and alternative choices.
 - Parent Involvement: If the behavior persists, parents will be informed and involved in addressing the issue.
 - Plan of Action: For recurring issues, a specific plan of action will be developed with the parents, which may include behavior tracking or professional consultation.

Serious Misconduct:
In cases of serious misconduct (e.g., aggressive behavior, endangering self/others), immediate steps will be taken to ensure safety, which may include:
- Separation from the group.
 - Parental notification and pickup.
 - If necessary, suspension or termination from the daycare.

Parent Partnership:
- We encourage open communication with parents about their child’s behavior.
 - Parents are asked to inform us of any changes or challenges at home that may affect their child's behavior.

Policy Review and Agreement:
- This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed.
 - Parents are required to read and acknowledge this policy upon enrollment.
